Our team recently completed specialist temporary works at the iconic Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton, following the discovery of structural movement to the south facing elevation.

Detailed surveys confirmed deterioration of the original timber lintels and joists, requiring immediate stabilisation. With the main hall roof unable to carry imposed loads, support from above was not an option. Instead, a complex scaffold solution was designed and installed from the public highway, bridging over the main hall roof and into the building itself. Using DESSA beams to manage imposed loads, the structure was safely supported across multiple elevations while maintaining full public safety throughout.
